Environment East Gippsland Inc. is the longest running community forest group working solely for the protection of Victoria's last and largest area of ancient forest.

EEG Inc. has been working to protect the East Gippsland forest for over 20 years. As a locally based group we play a vital role in information gathering on the local logging industry and badgering our 'forest managers'. We also network closely with both regional, state and national environment groups, feeding vital information as far and effectively as possible.

EEG Inc. continues to:
  • Play watchdogs and expose the mismanagement of our forests
  • Carry out threatened species surveys in forests earmarked for logging
  • Campaign against the clear felling and woodchipping of our native forests
  • Educate the public about our native flora and fauna and threats to their survival
  • Attempt to make the Victorian government accountable for its unsustainable forest management
  • Produce a 16 page quarterly newsletter with non-mainstream news and updates
  • Hold annual forest ecology camps in East Gippsland
  • Agitate for the shift of the logging industry into plantations
  • Seek an environmentally and economically sustainable future for all.

EEG Inc. is a volunteer-run, non-profit community group which has been operating since the early 80s.
