An invasive pasture grass described as one of the "toughest plants on the planet" and among Victoria's worst emerging weed threats is being promoted as a salinity solution in Australia's southern states.
The threat of this one weed far exceeds that of salinity in Victoria, yet its use continues unregulated and governments actively promote it.
The report detailing the environmental threats of Tall Wheat Grass and other invasive pasture plants promoted as salinity solutions, can be downloaded from http://www.invasives.org.au. This has been published jointly by the Invasive Species Council and The Wilderness Society, with support from the Melbourne Community Fund.
